1999-2008 Fujitsu Siemens: Software tester for CentricStor (memory storage system).
                   Unix/Linux: shell scripts, awk, etc.

1996-1998 CEO Vogon International GmbH: data recovery firm.
                   Opened German office, data recovery and writing recovery software in C.

1995        DASA, Augsburg (now EADS): database project (component tracking) in SQL.

1977-1994 Moved to Munich, Germany.
              Siemens: software development for BS2000 operating system, initially as
                       an employee of Danet GmbH, from 1980 as CEO of Bruce + Sprigg GmbH.
                   Projects involved virtual machine (EVMM), support for multiprocessors,
                       lock manager, clock support, etc.

1971-1977 Lecturer in Computer Science, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow.
                   Courses: Introduction to computers, communications, SQL, Fortran, etc.
                   Support and software development for DEC PDP-11s and ICL 1900 systems.

1970-1971 M.Sc. degree in Computer Science, University of London (mark of distinction).

1965-1970 Mathematics teacher, George Heriot's School, Edinburgh.
                  Introduced computing in the school, using a terminal linked to Edinburgh
                       University's Department of Machine Intelligence & Perception's
                       multi-access POP-2 system.

1964-1965 Teacher training, Moray House College, Edinburgh.

1960-1964 B.Sc. degree in Mathematical Physics, University of Edinburgh (upper 2nd).

1947-1960 School education at the Royal High School, Edinburgh.

1942        Born in Stranraer, Scotland. Grew up in Edinburgh.
